Jaada's Lion House Roll Recipe

Lion House Rolls

2 Tbls. yeast

2 C. warm water

1/3 C. sugar

1/3 C. butter

2 tsp. salt

2/3 C. dry milk

1 egg

5-6 C. flour

Melted butter

Mix yeast and water and set aside for 5 minutes. In a mixing bowl cream sugar and butter. Add salt, dry milk and egg. Mix.

Add yeast and water mixture. Mix. One cup at a time, add the flour. With the dough hook, let it knead for a couple minutes on the mixer. Cover the bowl and let rise for 2- 3 hours. Pre-set oven to 400 degrees. Separate the dough in half and roll out into two circles. Brush the circles with melted butter. Cut into triangles like a pizza. Roll into the center making sure the point of the triangle is on the bottom when placed on the cookie sheet so the roll doesn't puff open when baked. Brush tops of rolls with melted butter. Cover and let rise 1/2 hour to 1 hour longer. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

Honey Butter:

1 C. butter

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 C. honey (my mom likes to use creamed honey, I just use what I have:))

Whip butter 7-10 minutes. Add vanilla and honey and whip 7-10 additional minutes. Chill before serving. For a real treat, at the end, I mix in 1/4 C. homemade raspberry jam!
